This photo was taken during the first uk lockdown at my girlfriends home.Time
It was taken midday around 1pm I think.Lighting
The lighting is 100% natural.Equipment
I used a large format 5x4 camera with a Ilford FP4 Glass Negative Plate. Other equipment used was a dark slide, a film changing bag, and a light proof developing tank. The photo was then developed by myself at home using a developing method I worked out.Inspiration
In the photo is my girlfriend, who I don't live with yet. Plans to move out in 2020 where put on hold and I wanted to use the photo to show the separation we where going through due to the covid 19 outbreak. This photo is also apart of my family isolation project and I always seen it as I'm looking to the future while highlighting the separation and distancing we have had to deal with.Editing
Yes the glass negative where scanned into the computer and then the levels where adjusted using Lightroom.In my camera bag
In my camera bag I normally have a sony a7 mk 2 and a 24 to 70 GMaster lens. Looking on getting the 24mm GMaster f1.4 soon.Feedback
First would be to try and find some light sensitivite glass like Ilford FP4. It's not impossible to find on sites like ebay, but be aware that it might not work even if the box it's unopened due to the fact most of it was made around 60 to 80 years ago and over time the light sensitivity of the glass plate will lower. My next advice would be to use a good light meter to work out your exposure. My exposure setting for the photo above was 6 seconds shutter with f8.0 aperture and whatever iso the plate is. It was 180 when new could of been as low as 1 when I used it there's no way to tell unfortunately.
