Behind The Lens

Location

I captured this Toronto city view from our open rooftop.

Time

I took this shot in the late evening (at 8:00 pm)

Lighting

It was a cloudy day so the lighting condition was perfect for this type of shot because city light gets bounced in the cloud and adds a little extra glow which I like most for the cityscape.

Equipment

Nikon D750 Nikon 24mm-70mm Lens Geekoto Tripod

Inspiration

This open view of city light and the structure of the buildings inspired me to take this shot. I really like the way light-trail creates a leading line for the viewer's eyes.

Editing

Yes, I processed it in Lightroom. I try to desaturate all other colors rather than Orange, Yellow, and Red using HSL sliders

In my camera bag

Nikon D750 Nikon 24-70 mm ( Wideangle Lens) Nikon 70-300 mm (Telephoto Lens) Geekoto Tripod Breakthrough Photography Filter (ND 6, ND 10)

Feedback

For this type of shot, you need a very stable tripod. If you are shooting from an open rooftop like me then during the shot definitely take care of yourself as well as your gear.
