Location
This was taken in my garden..we grow tulips and love their shape and colours. They appear different every day, changes in the weather give different perspectives for photographers.Time
This was taken during the afternoon after a short sharp shower, the day was dark and humid and I just knew we were gona get an outburst. After the rain these lovely tulips were asking to be photographed.Lighting
The sun came out briefly to aid the light although tulips were partially shaded I still managed to capture light on the petals from the rain drops.Equipment
My one and only camera is my trusted Canon 70D with a 18-55mm lens, f/7.1 iso 100, hand held, on my hands and knees to capture Tulip at low level.Inspiration
I love flowers and have always enjoyed growing them aswell as photographing them. The weathers plays a huge part in the artistic possibilities of photographing nature.Editing
I use Lightroom to process and edit. This photograph was only slightly edited, darkened background to give colour of tulip a 'pop' and edges ad a vignette added. In my camera bag
I always carry my Canon 70D with my trusty 18-55mm lens. I also have a Tamron 150-600mm that I have with me if I'm out and about, but if I'm in my garden it's usually 18-55.Feedback
keep an open mind when photographing flowers and plants, strong sunlight isn't always the best for good results. I tend to go for light after rain especially in spring and summer, reflections from water drops make for interest.
