It was not direct though it was bright. Opaque cover from the sun.Equipment

It is an unusual flower next to the usual assortment of garden flowers. It stood out.Editing
Instead of the green background from leaves, darkened the background to black so all you see is the flower.In my camera bag
Nikon DSLR. Mini tripod. Macro lenses. Cell phone camera as well.Feedback
Take LOTS of pictures, from different angles. Seems I take 1 “good” photo for every 50 “bad” ones. Usually the one that turns out well is not the one I identified when shooting. Also, don’t be afraid to play with post processing. I don’t like to alter photos much but some minor tweaks can do wonders. Nothing ventured nothing gained!
