Location
The photo was taken in Cinque Terre, Italy.Time
In the afternoon, 3:58pm.Lighting
At this moment, the sky was clear and cobalt blue so I wanted to capture the beautiful sky. The village is also beautiful so I hiked a little bit to get a better view of the whole place. The sun was behind me and is shinning its light to the village.Equipment
This was shot on a Canon 350D (Digital Rebel XT) and Tokina 12-24mm F4, BW CPL filterInspiration
I was visiting this place and the landscapes were beautiful.Editing
Yes I did. I used Lightroom. This photo was taken in April 2011. I edited it on an older computer so it looked old when I saw this photo again a few weeks ago prior to uploading to ViewBug. I re-edited the photo and it felt like remodeling my house or something. I didn't do much editing this time, just WB. I would recommend to photographers to re-edit their photos. I discovered photos I took a long time ago and it re-ignited my passion in photography. You can re-create your older photos because your knowledge, your skill, your gear and the technology gets better over the years. It's also fun reminiscing memories. During this time of a pandemic, we can always have a look at our photos again. In my camera bag
I upgraded my gear now than when I took this photo. Currently I have Canon 1DX, Canon 50mm F1.2, Canon 17-40mm F4.0 Mavic Pro. I look up to Henri Cartier-Bresson so I usually enjoying taking photos with 50mm wide angle for landscapes.Feedback
Make sure you are ready for a hike. There will be a lot o walking in Cinque Terre. You also need to prepare your back for carrying your gear. Most of the time, the sun is behind me and was burning my back. You can also check Google maps, check your route, set out a plan so you can calculate travel times and what time of the day you want to get to each village.
