Location
This photo was taken at the Bubbles & Bows Dog Grooming shop in Escalon, CA where I hosted a " soggie Doggie' event for 29 dogs. The dogs came in for their regular baths with the shop and paid a small fee to have these taken. It was a very successful event and all dogs had a great time. The dogs were bathed in the tub at the shop and photographed and later I made this composite in the bathtub. I photographed a minimum of 140 dogs that summer at different groom shops.Time
The images were taken at the groom shop throughout the day. The regular bathers were very helpful in getting these images.Lighting
The lighting is tricky in the groom shop and I used a magmod on my flash to help bounce light off the ceiling and walls.Equipment
I used Canon EOS 5D Mark III to create these with a 24-105 lens.Inspiration
I have always loved photographing dogs and the thought of sudsy, water spraying and droplets all over appealed to me. I found colorful towels, shower caps and rubber duckies as props to complete the images.Editing
Post processing on this image included using a digital backdrop to put the dog into.In my camera bag
As a rule I always have my 24-105mm, 14-35mm and my 70-300mm with me as well as my flash and magmod.Of course, I always have extra batteries and memory cards.Feedback
These shots take patience and timing.
