Location
I took this photo in my wn phto studio, route des Combes in Combaillaux (34980, France)Time
This photo was taken in the morning, with one flood flash light source.Lighting
the lighting technique I used consists in placing a single source of lateral light and just a little behind the model in order to obtain tangential lighting on the skin, on models with black or matte skin, this causes interesting contrasts between the unlit parts of their body and the parts where the light reflects completely, thus creating real sculptures of light and shadow ...Equipment
I used, for this one, A Canon 5D Mark II camera with à Tamron 28-75 AF Zoom F/2.8 (IF), the light is n Elinchrom Style 400 FX with a beauty bowl, It was diurected thanks to some black screens in order preventing flares ont the lenses.Inspiration
This photo was inspired by my first meeting with the black skin, when I was arounf 4 years old, an evening of June... I said to my mother who was carrying me in her armes, "lok Mam ! the skin of this man is beautiful in the light, it seems to be brown silk...".Editing
The only post processing I used is to adjust the contrast and light of the pictures according to the effect I want to get.In my camera bag
Canon EOS 7D and Canon EOS 5D Mark II with 2 Tamron zooms, Tamron 28-75 AF Zoom F/2.8 (IF) and Tamron 17-35 SP AF Zoom F/1:28-4 Aspherical.Feedback
It is easy to do, you need a model who is able to accept to keep the same pose just rotating slowly to get the good angle between the light and the lenses... Use a short flash to increase the precision on the skin grain.
