I took this photo of my 20-year-old son Greyson after moving him out of his dorm at Emerson College Boston and back into our house when the COVID-19 pandemic began. This is the first photo I'd ever taken with the old Rolleiflex 3.5f my dad gave me.Time
It was mid-morning when I took this photo. I sat across the table from my son and he looked so lost. I had been fiddling around with my dad's old Rollei that day so the camera was on the table. I picked it up and snapped the photo.Lighting
Normally I wouldn't choose to shoot with so much light behind the subject but in this instance, I thought it would add a nice contrast to my son's gloominess.Equipment
This was shot using a 1959 Rolleiflex 3.5f.Inspiration
I had never seen my son look so out of his element before. COVID-19 had just turned his life upside down and as a result of the pandemic, he was stuck at home with me instead of living in a dorm in a Boston enjoying his freedom.Editing

I use a variety of cameras but my favorites are the Fujifilm X100s, Leica M3, and now the Rolleiflex 3.5f.Feedback
When you're trapped in the house with your family, look for moments that capture the feeling of isolation that the pandemic has caused.
