Behind The Lens
Location
I took this in Saint Andrews in Scotland. A rare sunny day was a perfect excuse to go to the water.Time
Around noon, the tide was rising quickly.Lighting
Clouds are not always your enemy, they bring a point of interest and act as diffusers for a really bright summer’s day.Equipment
I scaled a wall with my Nikon and tried a few test shots to find the right distance. I had some filters and a wide angle before I knocked my bag into the sea and lost them all.Inspiration
The division of still and disturbed waters as well as the historic buildings and sweet modern colourful homes sprinkled throughout the coast. Also the mix of luscious greenery and gorgeous blues.Editing
I used some healing to get rid of a few people and things that threw off the feeling of the image as well as smoothing some water on the left. I also adjusted the colours to a histogram and sharpened the details. In my camera bag
A macro lens, a tripod and spare memory cards never go amiss.Feedback
Make sure your backpack is secured and closed! Also, don’t be afraid to climb a wall every once in a while.
