This flower, in my garden, caught my eye one day. Just so perfect imperfect, it seemed to reach out to me, like it wanted me to go grab my camera.Time
During early afternoon the sun was still kind of harsh, so getting the right angle for both camera and flower was important. Especially when I didn't have any diffuser at hand at that moment and I didn´t bother to go get one either.Lighting
I used no flash this time, only natural light.Equipment
This was shot handheld, with my Nikon d7200 and my macro lens Tamron 90 mm.Inspiration
Loving macro photo, I always see things and want to explore the small world. This makes me stand on my knees or crawl in the dirt, even if I happen to have a skirt or a dress not perfect for these situations...Editing
I always do the first part of post-processing in Lightroom, and I do sometimes continue in Photoshop, like with this shot, where I wanted to have some more control over the colours and temperature in the highlights and shadows. In my camera bag
The Nikon d750 is always in my bag nowadays, sometimes also the d7200 and Sony rx100II. I almost always bring my Sigma Art 24mm and Tamron 70-200 or Tamron macro 90mm. Sometimes the Tokina 11-16 when shooting landscapes and Northern lights.Feedback
A macrolens is great to have or maybe extensiontubes to your lenses. Get down on your knees or stomach, take your time. There's so much to discover and photograph in nature. Or bring something indoors and try different lighting setups. It's fun to have a flash with a small softbox or diffuser. But you can get great photos even without it, just using natural light and maybe a diffuser and a reflector.
