Location

This photo was taken in Punta del Este, Uruguay, by the sea when it began to dusk.

Time

It was probably 6 in the afternoon, which is the time the sun begins to go down at that time of year.

Lighting

The light in the photo is completely natural. He was sitting watching the scene and the sun gave him a frame of warmth and tenderness that completely changed an everyday scene

Equipment

This photo was taken with an LG h420 smartphone. That was the smartphone I had at the time and the only thing I had on hand to take pictures at the time.

Inspiration

On every trip I take alone or with my family, I take pictures of everything I can. This photo is part of that custom, but when I saw the scene with the sunset light in the background I felt that if I did not photograph it I would regret it.

Editing

Since I take photos from smartphones, post-processing is essential. In this case, I had to tweak a few things: white balance, saturation, and a bit of focus. Although I had to do an edit, this photo is one of the few that taken with a smartphone that needed little further work.

In my camera bag

All I have is my smartphone and 2 or 3 lenses.

Feedback

I don't think I am qualified to give advice on this subject, but I can tell you to open your eyes and shoot, shoot and shoot. And take some time away from the pictures you don't like. Sometimes a shot that is not to our liking when we take it we like it a few days later.
