I took this shot in my “ studio” which is now my newborn’s room. I’m always trying to use whatever space I can in my apartment to practice with my lighting and photo set upsTime
I was practicing taking water drop pictures till around 12am. I wanted to have my room as dark as possibleLighting
I am super new to using the Miops splash trigger and after trying in a lit room with a fast shutter I learned the trick is actually a dark room with a low flash setting to freeze it as much as possible.Equipment
I use a Nikon D750 and had my 105 macro lens. And used a Miops water drop trigger for the controlled splash.Inspiration
Following a few Instagram accounts where I saw some amazing splash photography, I had to try it for myself. It’s definitely challenging but fun to just get all the settings right and experiment with it.Editing
I used photoshop to even out the grays and remove some specs of dust from my sensor that showed up.In my camera bag
Nikon D750, a 16-35 Nikon f4, 105 2.8 macro, 50mm 1.4 and a Tamron 70-200 2.8. I also have my 2 SB 900 and 700 flashes.Feedback
It’s just a matter of messing around with the timing and drop size settings until you find a splash you like :)
