After the end of the Eritrean war of independence the government put back the railway from the red sea at Massawa to Asmara. Since they only had two diesal locomotives they resuscitated their Italian steam locomotives from before WW2
These two classic Italian mallet locomotives sit on shed at Asmara one evening. They will be used for a tour train in the moring.
