My dad's favourite rose was one called Peace. That rose has an interesting story behind it but for me the most profound part is the statement that was read when the rose was officially named. It said, 'We are persuaded that this greatest new rose of our time should be named for the world’s greatest desire: ‘PEACE’.' That was back on 29 April 1945. It seems to me some 75 years on that this is still the world's greatest desire. I know this is simply a wild rose, but the colours reminded me of my dad and his favourite rose. I hope you enjoy my version of peace.
