Location
This photo was taken in Northen Italy, during a little trip of some days around the Italian AlpsTime
The land was taken a bit before the blue hour, while the sky during the same night, with a temperature around the -5 °CLighting
When I arrived in this spot I felt in love with this beautiful and at the same time dangerous frozen clefts. I wanted to use one of them as a guide line to my Milky Way, and after a long research, I found the right oneEquipment
This was shot with a Nikon d750, with a 15-30mm f2.8, and a tripodInspiration
Before the trip I wanted to shoot a Milky Way, but with an original land. I knew that there were a lot of beautiful spot, but I had to invent something different, and once arrived on top of this mountain, I realized it could be the right placeEditing
Here there is a long workflow. I developed the raw files in Camera Raw to adjust the photos (land and sky), and after in Photoshop, merging them and obtaining the final resultIn my camera bag
Almost every time I have a photography trip, I walk some hours (from1 to 4) with mountaineering backpack. I always have my 15-30mm f2.8, the 24-70mm f2.8, the tripod, and if necessary my tent and everything useful to stay 1 or 2 night in the middle of natureFeedback
Mountains in North Italy are full of beautiful spot, you only deserve to walk a lot. Most of the time more you walk more possibilities you have to find and original place. At this point you only have to spend some time to search something interesting for the foreground, better if it could be also as guide line for the background, and wait the night to shoot the milky
