My Icelandic adventure was a true depiction of how volatile conditions can be on the island nation. This ended up being our only evening, enjoying the sights in Iceland before being on house arrest for the next 5 days due to hurricane force winds. We arrived at Seljalandfoss on our first evening in Iceland, jet lagged and rather tired. Given the popularity of Iceland and this waterfall's close proximity to the road, I anticipated hordes of people. Instead of that, the few photographers that were there left right after sunset. My sister and I had the entire place to ourselves with the parking lot empty. I climbed up on top of the rocks where I witnessed one of the grandest sunsets I have ever seen.
