My neighbor's child inspired me to take this photo of him. I liked seeing his eyes light up and seeing his smile and wanted to capture the moment.Editing

I normally have my camera phone in my bag since it is easier to carry around and not very expensive.Feedback
When it comes to capturing a portrait of a child, try to get down to the child's level. It would also help to be patient and up close when taking a portrait
