Great portrait! Love how the tones of the flower are somewhat echoed in the face

Location
This photo was taken in our backyard in Taranaki, New Zealand during the COVID-19 lockdown.Time
Mid afternoonLighting
I really wanted to frame my wife's face in this photo, so we chose a spot under a tree where the sun was coming through at an angle, then played around until we got this photo.Equipment
Canon EOS 80D with a 50mm F1.8 portrait lensInspiration
I wanted to emphasize her natural beauty. Her freckles and eyes are are such stunning features. They are very important, as I wanted the photo to encourage self confidence. Eyes tell such a strong story, I wanted to ensure that her eyes would draw the viewer in.Editing
This photo only had some light editing in lightroom to take the boldness out of a few harsh colours. In my camera bag
I'm my camera bag, I always carry at least three lenses: Canon EF 50mm F1.8 Canon EFS 18-135mm Canon EF 75-300mm As well as my lenses, I keep a few other goodies in there too. I have a Canon 320EX flash, a palm size collapsible tripod, and a detachable microphone for when I'm videoing.Feedback
Just go out, have fun, and don't think that you can't take amazing photos just because you don't have all of the latest and greatest equipment.
