Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was shot in my backyard in Seattle, WA. The pnw cherry blossoms are very famous and i had no idea i would see such beauty in my own yard.

Time

This photo was shot in the evening. The sun was low in the sky and caused dramatic lighting along with the clouds. I had tried some shots to capture the effect.

Lighting

I wanted the photograph to look a little dreamy but with some background. The setting sun behind the trees created some filtered lighting which was perfect to get the shot. I had waited near the tree and tried some shots till i got the desired lighting.

Equipment

This photo was shot on a Canon 5D with a 100mm Macro Lens. No tripod.

Inspiration

We had been home for almost 2 months dealing with the COVID-19 situation. I was trying to find things to photograph around the neighborhood, on trails etc. One day i noticed the tree buds and waited for them to bloom and realized they were these beautiful blossoms. This is my first spring at this location and had no idea i was surrounded by such beauty.

Editing

Yes, i had processed the photograph to add some vignette in Lightroom and the logo.

In my camera bag

I carry my camera, 16-35mm for landscapes and 100mm for portraits and macro.

Feedback

Direction of light is very important and how harsh it is.
