Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken in my own back yard.

Time

This was at around 2200GMT, I’d had a busy day on a photography course and our task for the evening was to play with different light and shooting in the dark!

Lighting

I’d set the camera up on a tripod and started with a high F stop. The shutter speed was a matter of seconds for me to be able to move a sparkler around behind one of my sons favourite toys. It took a few shots to make sure the glow of the sparkler was hidden behind the figure at all Times.

Equipment

Tripod and a bunch of sparklers till I was happy with the result.

Inspiration

I was on a weeks photography course through work and out task for the evening was low level light situations. So I thought I would experiment with a few of my sons toys and a bunch of sparklers we had kicking about

Editing

This was taken on raw, cropped and processed to JPEG.

In my camera bag

My main genre is wedding photography. So sun addition to my 5D3 & 4. I carry six lenses inc primes/telephoto/wide angle and a macro.

Feedback

Have fun with it and if it doesn’t work out take another shot. The joys of digital photography. All that’s stopping you is your imagination!
