I just turned and he was standing there, looking absolutely picture-perfect and I had to take a snap!Editing
Not a lot! I just smoothed out the harsh highlights and whites, bumped his shadows up a touch to bring back some shadows, and brought his texture up. And of course a soft vignette to draw your eye further to his absolutely gorgeous face.In my camera bag
Just my trusty Nikon d3000 and 70-300mm Tamron tele-marco lense! As a hobbyist, I don't feel the need to have oodles of equipment; though the temptation is very real!Feedback
Trust your gut, keep an eye for any unprompted gorgeous snaps, and knowing body language is a key thing when working with animals as well as getting the correct feel to your work.
