Behind The Lens

Location

I was on a cross country roadtrip and took it while walking around in Pittsburgh, PA.

Time

It was around mid-day and I had only just drove into Pittsburgh a couple of hours prior.

Lighting

It was mid-day and slightly overcast which gave the building a nice diffused lighting to show off all the texture and gave the plane a nice contrast against the sky.

Equipment

No tripod, no flash, no digital, I took this on expired 35mm film using a Canon AE-1.

Inspiration

The beautiful textured building caught my eye and as I was going to take a pic of just it, a plane flew by so I seized the moment.

Editing

Yep, The original (which is also on my page) is in color, but I processed it digitally to look Black and White to allow the textured building to really show through.

In my camera bag

28mm lens, 50mm lens, and 5-10 rolls of film. I don’t need anymore than that and it allows me to be very mobile when out shooting.

Feedback

It’s always when I don’t have my camera that I wish I had it.
