Behind The Lens

Location

I was attending a wildlife photography training day, where a number of small critters were brought out for us to shoot. The frog was placed on a moss-covered stick and handheld while I shot it. The rain was added post-production in PhotoShop.

Time

About midday the image was taken, against a dark background.

Lighting

Two small studio lights were used, as can be seen reflected in his eys.

Equipment

A Nikon D70s, the image was taken some time ago.

Inspiration

I love wildlife and when the opportunity came up to get some shots of this tree frog I jumped at it.

Editing

Slight post-production in LR and then PS to add the rain.

In my camera bag

I only use Nikon equipment, currently a Nikon D800, and two Nikon D700s. I use a Nikon 24-70 for a lot of my work, plus a Nikon 105mm prime and a 70-200mm. most of my travel lighting is Godox.

Feedback

Always be ready to take advantage of opportunities put your way and remember the location can be blurred out through the use of good use of aperture.
