Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in lakeside garden, Singapore, just one week before the lockdown was implemented in Singapore.

Time

We wanted to have the shoot just before the golden hour.

Lighting

As Singapore weather was unpredictable most of the time, it started raining when we reached the spot. So we waited further and luckily the sky opened up for us and the lighting was amazing.

Equipment

This was shot with Sony Alpha 7R3 body and Tamron 28-75 2.8 lens. No flash or tripod were used for this particular photo.

Inspiration

We took almost 100+ images at various spots that day and our model was pretty tired. So she sat on the wooden log and was adjusting her hair. She was stunning in that casual look and took few pictures with this. But the first casual shot stood out of all the posed pictures.

Editing

Just few corrections done in Lightroom and final touch done in Luminar 4.

In my camera bag

I usually carry a big bag with another lens(Voitglander 40mm 1.2). tripod and a lot of props used for the portrait shoots like mirrors, plastic bags, rings, bolts, prisms, cds, etc. I also carry few items for the light painting related stuffs which I do after the sky gets dark.

Feedback

Usually the casual shots which we take unaware of the models stood out of the other posed ones. Just try to look for candid moments.
