Behind The Lens

Location

It is a colonnade in Park Pobedy (Park of Victory), Moscow.

Time

It was at about 1 p.m., I guess.

Lighting

Contrast direct sunlight is very good for geometric or abstract photos.

Equipment

This was shot on Minolta Dynax 5D with Sigma 24-70/2.8 lens (on 24mm focal length)

Inspiration

I saw that sunlight make narrow shadows on the backside walls of the colonnade and on the floor, creating additional visual rhythm with colonnade itself, and all that wrapped on symmetry between upper and lower curves, so that must be on a photo.

Editing

There were a few people at far plane, they were removed, and obviously it was converted to monochrome, so colours would not distract attention away from geometry and the rhythm.

In my camera bag

Usually it is a camera with 50mm lens on it and 105/2.8 macro lens for close details and far objects. Surprisingly it is also quite good for portraits.

Feedback

Just keep looking around all the time.
