Behind The Lens

Location

I'm a young photographer and that means that I still have much to learn when it comes to photography. This photo was taken in my home as practice for my Photography class at university.

Time

This photograph was taken at about 15:30.

Lighting

I wanted the face of my subject to be visible and for the overall look to be sort of whimsical. The best way to do this was by using natural lighting. The light streaming in through the window is shaded lighting which gives the photograph a cool tone.

Equipment

All I used was a camera and a standard lens.

Inspiration

I wanted to try doing something different from what I usually do. I usually take photographs of landscapes and plants, i have been experimenting with other types of photography and I wanted to try a window shot.

Editing

I did do some post production. I mostly upped the contrast and the brightness. I've learnt that the key is to keep it as natural as possible and to edit the bare minimum.

In my camera bag

I have a camera bag that is always packed and ready to go. It has a camera, with a 8 GB memory card, and two different lenses. I also have a charger for the battery and alcohol wipes to clean lenses as well as a data cable to transfer the images without removing the memory card.

Feedback

Its all about the correct lighting and setting the correct exposure.
