Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken at a temporary studio some friends had up and running, they were testing lighting and invited my youngest to have a go at modelling. They knew I was learning photography so they offered me the chance to have a go.

Time

Taken in the early afternoon, alternating with one of the photographers daughters.

Lighting

This was my first studio shoot, one of the photographers had to explain the lighting to me, very informative.

Equipment

Unfortunately I don't know the make of camera, I currently use the Canon EOS 1100D, and I'm enjoying that.

Inspiration

We had been discussing different movements to create new poses, small movements etc, during the conversation I snapped this as an example.

Editing

I changed the lighting, to reduce the white background, and just tweaked the contrast and saturation. I also cleaned up their skin a little as they'd been wearing make up and hadn't got it all off lol.

In my camera bag

At the moment just my camera and a standard lens, I ordered a lens extender this week.

Feedback

Just have a play, if you're getting advice from me you're probably pretty new to it too so test out different lighting etc.
