Taken in Khasam on the Musandam Peninsula in the early oughts.Main business activity in this small town near the straits of Hormuz was smuggling.Open aluminium boats about 20 ft long powered by 100 or 200 HP outboast would race across from Iran laden with live goats or sheep destined for the Souqs mainly Dubai and Sharjah. They would return in the evening laden with cigarettes and electronics. The activity was illegal in Iran but legal, indeed a big business opportunity in Oman.
