I took this photo in my home studio in Tucson, AZ. I have been shooting for about a year and a half now, so I still have a ton of learn.Time
I took this about mid-day but since it was in studio the harsh light at that time didn't effect us. I specifically remember this shoot because I was in a hurry because I was flying to New York City that night and the makeup took a long time so I was running behind! However, the model was great and we knocked it out of the ballpark.Lighting
Used a godox 600pro with a glow beauty dish, I think 34 inches with a silver lining, as the key light then I back lit with a godox 200 with a magmod sphere on it.Equipment
I used my canon 80d with a nifty 50 on it. I stated the flashes above in the lighting section. I have learned that the equipment can make a difference but I don't have the most expensive system and I get great images. What the trick truly is, is to have passion for the craft of photography, an eye for amazing angles, and making sure your light is great.Inspiration
My girlfriend is also a photographer and she is always coming up with amazing and beautiful ideas. We thought about this idea together and made it come to life. She did the makeup for it and it came out so amazing. So I think what inspired this image is just the love I have for doing photography with my lady.Editing
I did a little post-processing on this image to touch up skin a bit, but really our model had amazing skin so I didn't have to stress to much about that. I also did some work on the colors to make them really pop off the screen. In my camera bag
I always have my canon 80d obviously, but I carry a number of lenses. I have my nifty 50, the stock lens the camera, but my favorite is my Tamron 70-200. Other than those I really just keep my transmitter for my flashes, a camera strap, and some memory cards.Feedback
I think for people that are trying to shoot models it is important to know how to work with you model. The first few times I worked with one it was very clunky and unorganized. I started to do research by watching youtube and paying attention to how others do things. It has helped me create my own style and my models really respond to what I want them to do now.
