This is my friend Allana. I've shared pictures of her on here before. She's an amazing woman who has helped me through a lot of things. In school, I had a photography assignment I needed a model for, so I asked her. She agreed, even though she has a few insecurities about her body and smile. My goal became to show her that even though she has insecurities, she's still beautiful. I call this photo 'Strength' because she said that this picture made her feel strong.

Location
I took this at the studio in my school. We had to do a studio session as an assignment and this is one of thr shots I took.Time
This was taken around 8:30 at night.Lighting
I wanted the lighting to kind of highlight her muscles without really highlighting her muscles.Equipment
I used a Canon 30D with a 55-135mm lens. The camera was not on a tripod, I held this in my hand. I used a key light, background light, and a filler light as well.Inspiration
I wanted to do something different with one of my shots, so I tried this. When I saw this pose, I noticed that it sort of highlighted her muscles and I thought it was perfect. So I made this image about her strength.Editing
I used Adobe Lightroom and brought her skintone up to her normal one, as well as making sure little spots were carefully wiped away.In my camera bag
I usually have 2 cameras, a normal lens, a telefoto lens, my 55-135mm lens, extra batteries, a flash, filters for my flash, and extra SD cards.Feedback
Try out different lighting positions. If there's a particular spot you want to highlight, keep playing with the light until it's just perfect. Don't rush. Take your time and your picture will turn out just how you want it!
