Location
I took the photo in Scotland at the world famous Eilean Donan Castle. It was of course necessary to visit this castle on the first trip to Scotland. It was worth it.Time
Not unusual for Scotland, it was a cloudy and gray day. But this light also gave this photo a somber mood.Lighting
No, just a grey scottish day.Equipment
I used Canon 7D without tripod and i think it was 17-70 Sigma lens. No flash.Inspiration
The appearance of this gate. The 4 archways and then this thick wooden door.Editing
Yes I have. I made the picture a little bit blue and dark so it looks a little more threatening. In my camera bag
I have my good old Canon 7D, with which I can still take great photos in 2020. I have a fisheye lens, a Sigma 10-20 mm wide-angle lens, a Sigma Art 50-100mm, a Sigma 80-400 telephoto zoom, a Sigma fixed focal length 30mm as well as Hoya polarizing filters and Nisioptics gray filters. There is also a Sony RX 100 IV.Feedback
In architecture, you should always look directly at the gate or the building. It looks more impressive. If possible, a ladder sometimes helps. This would have been very helpful with this picture, since the center of the gate is higher than my height.
