Behind The Lens

Location

i took this photo during the annual hike to turtle lake trip, during the summer with the camp i work for.

Time

We had just gotten to the top of the mountain and we were all setting up for the night. I had just finished and sat down on a rock and looked up to see this. It was the point of almost night where the sun had almost disappeared from sight beyond the horizon.

Lighting

I love that when i took this, it gave you just enough light to accent the beauty of nature, while also having a darker touch to it.

Equipment

This was taken with a Nikon D3500 DSLR with a standard lens, and my knee as i was sitting on a rock. :))

Inspiration

I was just admiring how amazing the view was. i felt entranced looking at the stillness and calm around me.

Editing

I didn’t process anything. No filter, no editing. Nothing. Just Capturing the beauty of what i see; nature.

In my camera bag

I always always always make sure i have my tripod with me. This photo wasn’t taken with one, but you’ll never know when you need it. I also make sure i have an extra SD card, a lens cloth, and an extra battery with the battery charger as well.

Feedback

Don’t only shoot for the perfect shot. Otherwise you’ll never get it. Just capture what you see, and take lots of pictures.
