Behind The Lens
Location
This photograph was taken in my home in Western Australia for part of a University project.Time
This image was taken at night which is when I am at my most creative for home studio photography.Lighting
I wanted the image to be lit in a way that paid homage to films such as Goodfellas and The Godfather. So I chose to light the image with an old yellow lamp and bounce it off of a white wall to dull the light enough to create the shadows I wanted.Equipment
I used a Canon 1300D with a 18-55mm lens, a tripod and an old desk lamp with a diffuser attached to it.Inspiration
My inspiration was the old and newer mob films such as The Godfather, The Irishman and Goodfellas. Their aesthetics really stuck with me and inspired me to create my own mini scenes.Editing
There was only minimal editing done in camera RAW, the only real editing done was removal of specular highlights. In my camera bag
I usually carry my camera, my lenses and lens accessories and my external flash.Feedback
My advice would be to play around with lighting, try something unconventional and see how the results may turn your photo into something even more stunning.
