Behind The Lens

Location

Point Peron, Near Rockingham, Western Australia.

Time

time of day, well obviously sunset.

Lighting

Using the natural light from the setting sun.

Equipment

Pentax K70 with a 18-250mm zoom at 250mm. Handheld.

Inspiration

Sunset over the Indian Ocean is always a fav and getting something extra in the shot is a bonus.

Editing

Hdr from 1 RAW image in Photomatix pro6 then a little burning in the dark areas to bring up detail in the rocks without washing out the orange sunset.

In my camera bag

I have several outfits and pick a bag to suit the conditions. This time I had the K70 with a 18-250 for its range and a 40mm f2.8 pancake lens in my pocket for the walk.

Feedback

The long lens worked out great for this day and took half a dozen shots as the sun was going down, the seagull flew in at just the right time.
