I was just going to ask if this was Banff? But saw that had been asked already. I used to live there but this view at night is not often seen! Great image!

SJRatcliffe Thank you for your comment. I’ve been there 3 times, most recently this past December when I took this shot. Can’t get enough of this place.

Location
Here’s a shot of Banff, Alberta, Canada taken from atop of Mount Sulphur in Banff National Park.Time
This was taken around 8pm, shortly after dinner.Lighting
Banff illuminated the closest mountain while the nearby town of Canmore provided some light separation between the sky and distant mountains.Equipment
I used my Nikon D850 with a Nikon 24-70 2.8 lens wide open at 70mm, attached to. Bogen 3021 tripod with a Manfrtotto magnesium ball head. I also used a remote trigger to minimize shutter shake.Inspiration
There are plenty of shots like this by some very talented photographers. We love visiting Banff. I just wanted to have my own memory of the town.Editing
I bracketed 5 shots and merged them in LR. I used PS for luminosity, noise and sharpening adjustments. In my camera bag
My normal bag varies based on the destination and objectives. For this trip the D850 and 24-70 lens did 90% of the work.Feedback
I’ve traveled to Banff 3 times at different parts of the year. Keep going back to a favorite site to get a different perspective.
