I have always wanted to capture bluebirds and discovered there were a few nesting pairs in a local urban park in Toronto.Time
I ended up waking up a 5am to try to capture a bluebird in the early morning light before it got too harsh.Lighting
Nature early morning light is the best time to photograph nature, especially birds.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D750 using a Sigma 105-600 zoom lens mounted on a MeFoto tripod.Inspiration
I love nature photography and find capturing birds a challenge.Editing
I do all my post-processing in Photoshop raw. For this photo I cropped the images slightly, a bit of sharpening, colour balance and a slight vingette. In my camera bag
When I know I am out to shoot birds, I carry my Sigma 105-600 lens and my Nikon 70-300 lens.Feedback
In order to capture birds, the best time of day is at dawn. The light is beautiful and the birds are actively feeding first thing in the morning.
