Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in a bathtub in my home. It was quite a tricky location to work with due to the tight space, but I loved the challenge I was faced with to get the shot!

Time

Taking these photos was a last minute decision between the model and me. It was about 2 or 3 PM when we decided to do the photoshoot, and by the time we gathered the supplies, the sun was about to go down. The images were shot during the night time of about 6 or 7 PM.

Lighting

I wanted the lighting to be well-lit on everything in frame, and since the photos were taken at night, the flash on my camera was used to capture the look I was going for.

Equipment

I used a Canon 80D.

Inspiration

The idea of the milk bath photoshoot has always interested me. The combination of a regular bath being combined with the beauty of the flowers, plants, and the tinted water adds a mystical feel to the photos.

Editing

I wanted to enhance the colors of the flowers in the water which also correlated with the model's top, so I edited in Photoshop and Lightroom to dramatize the colors and overall lighting.

In my camera bag

My bag is pretty simple, because I try to keep the weight light. I of course have my Canon 80D with my standard lens, and I carry my zoom lens, and an extra battery.

Feedback

My advice is to take your own spin on the milk bath photoshoot. Make it your own! Use unique lighting/colors to dramatize the scene.
