Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at my house, years ago when I was just starting using my camera, I just got the idea of my dog with her favorite toy

Time

I took it in the morning, I was in my room and I decided it was the perfect time for a picture

Lighting

The only thought I had it was “soft light” A little bit of shadow and not too bright, so taking the picture in the morning was perfect for this lighting

Equipment

I shot this photo with a Canon Rebel t5 and a 18-55 mm lens, natural light and my sister help me with the tenis balls

Inspiration

I never took a picture of my dog before, so I was kind of doing an experiment, she loves tenis balls so much and I use that to play with her while trying to get the perfect shot, My sister help me a lot, there were so many tenis balls and she tried so hard to keep them together, my sister also helped me brush Cocoa and she did the little tails.

Editing

Well I was just starting using the camera and photoshop, so I only knew the basics, a little bit of light, the color and I cleaned a little bit the space around my dog

In my camera bag

Depends on the pictures that I will be taking! I always have my Canon D6 Mark II, a 18-55 mm lens and a 50mm lens too, just in case, of course a memory card with a lot of space and sometimes i’ll bring a small flash, but sometimes I need to take with me studio lighting, it’s so heavy but easy to carry. To some photo shoots I’ll take a reflector to manage the light better.

Feedback

Be patient, play with your dog, have treats close to you, and if your dog it’s going to run have water too, It can take a while to shoot “the perfect picture” so stay calm, have fun and just enjoy a good time with your pet while shooting it
