This photo was taken in Myanmar. I lived in China during 3 1/2 years accompanying my husband who work there during that time. Photography for me has to do with feelings. In the very moment I shoot a picture and look through the viewfinder, the vision of the surrounding world changes to me. I have the feeling to be able to penetrate into its intimacy in a deeper and even mysterious way, as if it could capture the soul of what I can see through it. For me, a good picture is when I can feel it. Could be nature, people, etc. I just need to have that deep deep feeling. If it is a landscape, I need to feel its soul. I must confess that I don't know much about tecnic, not because I didn't learn but because it doesn't interests me. I love the moment, and I need to take the shot and don't loose time. I love photographs as simple and natural as I see them. Don't enjoy Lightroom or Photoshop because afterwords I cannot feel the soul.Time
I do love this picture. It was taken during a trip to Myanmar on the 14th of January 2009 at 11h35. When I saw this Monk praying, he looked so much in peace. When I took the picture, while looking through the viewfinder, what I felt is hard to explain. I felt something so deep, very peaceful and so much love. That why I said that photography has to do with my feelings.Lighting
Lighting....yes, I liked the light on the Monk. The best light for me is just before sunsetting. This picture was taken earlier .Equipment
This was shot on a NIKON D40X with a 18-200mm f/3.5 lensInspiration
I was looking for something very special, and I found the praying MonkEditing
I don't like to change my pictures. I like them natural but, sometimes, I do use some correction tools. In this particular picture, I used CROP, EXPOSURE and SATURATION just a bit. these tools are the only ones I use. Just where I have my pictures organised "iPhoto"In my camera bag
For my NIKON D7000, I use several lenses like AF-S NIKKOR 70-300mm VR; AF-S NIKKOR 55-200mm VR and a AF-S NIKKOR 18-200mm. To take portraits I love the 55-200mm.Feedback
I can only suggest what for me is most important. Try to feel it.....
