Behind The Lens

Location

Photo was taken at Hoover Dam in Nevada about 40 minutes from Vegas.

Time

Picture taken in the middle of the day with sun at it's brightest.

Lighting

Lighting was natural and adjusted the shutter speed, ISO and aperture to control as much as possible.

Equipment

Canon T2 and UV lens were used while hand holding the camera.

Inspiration

Inspiration was the awesome and picturesque view. This is one of the seven wonders of the industrial world.

Editing

Post processing was adjusting clarity and sharpness.

In my camera bag

My bag has everything under the sun from charger to tripod and unipolar. I carry many filters and lenses to capture just the right shot. Usually on my body I have camera straps and halters to be able to have access to multiple devices. My laptop is sometimes in the bag and sometimes to reduce weight it will be in the hotel room. Everything I could possibly need is with me or access to it once the shooting stops.

Feedback

Learn to use your camera by using your camera. Manual mode will give you far better pictures than auto mode. Use cheat sheets if you have to in the beginning, but learn it so you can be a better photographer. I still use cheat sheets from time to time, but not very often. Play, experiment and make it fun. We shutterbug because it's a passion. My cameras and Samsung S10+ go with me everywhere. I also still use film. Digital has made me a better film photographer. Continue to learn as much as possible. An excellent photo can become a masterpiece with post processing. Don't discount it's worth.
