Location
I took this photo in Upstate New York Where I'm currently located. It's a side street near downtown where I seen this abandoned house and the plywood on the house stood out to so I use it as the background.Time
It was late afternoon when I took this photo around 5 pm I believe. It was mostly cloudy earlier that day but towards the afternoon the sun came back out creating nice soft light.Lighting
I find it somewhat easier to shoot when the sunlight isn't too harshEquipment
I just started shooting actually around this photo so all i had was my first camera which was an Canon 4000DInspiration
I love the idea if cultural expression and this is were I wanted to put a little heritage in my photos. I didn't have a lot to work with so I just got some face paint and use the white to tribal mark her face. I just wanted to show a little more with Portraits.Editing
Yes. During the time I was working on my black and white technique and skin editing. I just learned about the black and white layers in Photoshop which I better in my opinion to make black and white monochrome then just desaturating it.In my camera bag
Now in bag I have my circular reflector, my flash, and lenses.Feedback
Dont just desaturate your image. To get a better monochrome look I'll recommend using a Gradient map.
