Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the wild forest of Panna in Central India. The shot was taken by me on a safari.

Time

The photo was taken around 8:45 AM on a winter morning with early morning golden light in the back.

Lighting

As it was in the early hours and being winter the light was very cool and many shots were taken with golden light.

Equipment

This was shot with Nikon D7500 camera and AF-S 200-500 f/5.6 lens. No other equipment was present.

Inspiration

I was always looking for head shots of predators and in this case the Tiger was inside the bushes approaching the safari track. The Tigress after approaching the track took a right turn and gave me an angle that every photographer dreams of. Head shot, Golden light , Back ground Canopy and what else do you want. Only thing that could have added drama to this photo would have been rain drops. But again when I set my gear to shoot the Tigress read my mind and started walking straight into my lens giving me angles of my dreams. I shot many lapses one after another and this is one of them

Editing

As this is a wildlife photography not much can be altered. Hence exposure and contrast of the Tigress was adjusted. Shadows and highlights were touched a little

In my camera bag

Nikon D7500 and AF-S 200-500 f/5.6, AF-P 70-300 f/4.5-6.3.

Feedback

India with its vast wildlife is one of the best places to learn wildlife photography. Not only Tigers there are huge variety of flora and fauna all along the length and breadth of India. One can take his photography skills to many skills not only with animals but also with large variety of birds.
