When she was a very little puppy and we went to walk to the forest for the first time... suddenly an old men, looked like village resident - or better say, a personage like a forest soul, appeared in the face of us... The only thing he told was: "This dog will live 20 years!" His surprising apparition and his words about so many year for the dog.... And while I thought what to say him, I undestood I believed this prediction as it was a word of the fairy. But when I pronounced - yes, I believe, it will be so! - I see... Nobody was beside us..
And this dog, Silva, lived 20 years.

Behind The Lens

Location

I take this photo at my home. Simple at home, not at studio at all. So? nothing special about conditions.

Time

It was in the evening, when the light desapears. And it was very worth light for the old phylosophic black dog, wasn't it? ;)

Lighting

Try to catch the light scheme and structure - what gives the natural situation, than catch the mood it gives. And then do your best to develop this natural idea!

Equipment

I use Canon 50D. And 24-105 Canon Lens. I don't use flash shooting animals for not disturb them. Tripod - no, it was a spontaneous shot, not prepared and not predicted.

Inspiration

This dog's personality of course and her mood. "The beggining of the final way..."

Editing

Yes, I worked with this shot while converting: I added more low key and erazed the contrast on the dog's face for attract more attention to this part of picture.

In my camera bag

Usually I have in my bag all I have )))) Only the old Canon 50D, I have no possibility to upgrade the camera - so I'm old fasion photographer, and Canon Lens 24-105 f4, 50 f1.4, 100-400 f4.5-5.6. Also I take a tripod & monopod for assistance in low light situations.

Feedback

Love the world around you! The camera doesn't work but your emotions!
