Location
The photo was taken at Cambria beach in California. The Sun, at that time of the year, goes down early and quick. So timing is crucial. You need to be there before the star get too low and do not miss the waves breaking as well.Time
Time was at sunset.Lighting
Was a magnificent sunset, from a right angle. In this particular shot, the light of the Sun can be seen distorted by the atmosphere and the its reflection on the ocean.Equipment
Panasonic DMC-FZ2500 Aperture f/4.5 ; ISO 125; Shutter 1/160; Focal Length 112mm Hand held.Inspiration
The nature in Cambria is wild, almost untouched. The cliffs at the beaches are beautifully designed by the ocean, leaving big rocks over the sandy floor. And the great combination with the waves breaking on them, inspired to me to photograph even after the Sun went out of sight.Editing
Adjusting the contrast about + 20-25 %.In my camera bag
Canon 6D. With 2 lenses: 20 mm f/2.8 and 24-105 mm f/4L IS. Flash Canon 430 EX. Charger. Manfrotto tripod and xyz head. Panasonic DMC-FZ2500Feedback
First: be patient, on time and imagine the situation before it happens! Then, be careful with the point of view, in order to have a nice composition in accordance with the moment you really want to record. Use a high speed shooting (but no the highest). You can add a person in a silhouette for better reference/composition or a boat.
