Behind The Lens

Location

This image has been taken in the studios we share with PixelUniverse - and was part of a series of personal work. I was trying to get to this look; a couple of options didn’t work out - this one finally worked :)

Time

This one was halfway through the day. We already did a couple of other setups, but the model kept on being amazing :)

Lighting

I wanted the high-key feeling, but also the white skin. The end result is a combination of a high-key light setup and pretty simple color correction techniques.

Equipment

This was shot on a Nikon 750, with a 50mm Nikkor lens. Three flashes; one overhead, two in the back bouncing via the white backdrop. Dont remember if i used the tripod; i love/hate them; if it can be avoided i dont use them.

Inspiration

It was a general look I’ve encountered with several photograps. Tim Tadder for instance lately had a great white series. I collect those and pit them into moodbooks. Once in a while I pick one to try :)

Editing

Postprocessing done in Lightroom and Photoshop. All the complicated techniques I thought of didnt make it. In the end all that was needed was desaturation of the skin.. :D

In my camera bag

Nikon D750, a 50mm, a 70/200mm and a 28mm. Also, a second battery :) When on the job usually a couple of flashes as well.

Feedback

The lesson I learned: you dont need bodypaint for this effect :)
