I took this photo in my backyard. My nature loving daughter found this newt and brought it to me so I could photograph it. I put it on an old mossy stump and let it crawl around. As it moved I tried to stay in front of it for a straight on facing photo.Time
I would say it was daylight outside so my guess would be between 11am and 5pm.Lighting
I used natural light from the sun. It was a cloudy day, which is pretty normal for Western Washington.Equipment
Nikon 5000D, I don’t remember if I used my short or zoom lens for this photo. I hand held my camera which I normally do. I do not have a great tripod at the moment.Inspiration
The newt looked so striking against the green moss color.Editing
I believe I used auto correct on my iPhone. I didn’t have to do much to it because it came out so great the first time. I’m not good with photoshop or anything beyond my iPhone photo settings. In my camera bag
Just my Nikon 5000d with my short lens and zoom lens. These are the only Camera equipment I own. My husband bought them for me many years ago.Feedback
Have fun, take many photos, have patience. Most of all keep your eyes open and you’ll always find something to photograph.
