I took this photo while Benjamin was relaxing on the couch. I was working on talking close ups while exposing a blurry background. He is a great model, for he stays in position enough time for me to capture his handsomeness. I was sitting on the floor shooting upwards with a slight angle.Time
It was in the evening after I got home from work. He was winding down from long day of playing and nap taking.Lighting
I just had living room light on, and was able to capture a speck of light in both eyes.Equipment
My Canon t7i And using my Kit lens 18-55mm. No flash, no tripod.Inspiration
I love animals, and esp love cats. I have 4. Plus want to learn portrait shooting, and with Covid 19, I just have my cats for learning that skill.Editing
No editing was done on this photo. Thisis what came from my camera. I was happy with it, and even though that was taken early in my photo taking (first week with my first ever SLR), it's still one of my top 10 favorite.In my camera bag
I have my kit lens, a nifty fifty, and my 300 mm lens.Feedback
Use a low f-stop to capture that delightful blur background. And in my case half his face has a subtle blur too. This pic was at f/4.
