Location
This photo was taken in front of a beautiful large building door I noticed in the Art District on Santa Fe street in Denver Colorado.Time
When putting this shoot together me and the model decided to meet on a weekday afternoon right after lunch time and stroll down this art district when there was a little less foot traffic outside and the sun was at its peak.Lighting
As we were shooting and bouncing from location to location this area was well lit by the sun and we decided this would be a perfect spot to capture some creative shots.Equipment
This was shot with a Canon Rebel T6 with a Canon EF 17 - 40mm zoom lens attached. No flash or tripod used for this image.Inspiration
Before working with this model I saw some of her previous work and noticed how big her smile was and that it was one of her best attributes so I knew I wanted a shot like this. As I saw her gazing for a quick moment I knew this was a perfect moment to capture.Editing
I did do some but not much post processing. Her skin was smoothed creating frequency separation Layers. I did elevate the contrast somewhat and slightly turned up the reds and yellows in this image. In my camera bag
Normally I carry 3 lenses. A Canon EF 50mm F1.8, a Canon EF 17 - 40mm f/4L zoom and a Canon ef-s 24mm f/2.8 stm lens. I also have 2 extra fully charged batteries becuase I like to shoot a lot. And just in case I need to use flash I also carry an Altura Photo AP-C1001 Speedlite.Feedback
I would say to always pay attention to the subject you are shooting and try to capture some of those free natural moments. Also try to incorporate your own creative eye when shooting. In doing this you will capture some of the most beautiful shots!
