Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in a hotel room I stayed in with my mother and daughter.

Time

I believe this was very early in the morning, before everyone else was awake. I usually stay awake all night because this is the best time for me to do any creative work or just have some quiet time.

Lighting

The lighting isn't too great, only that of the hotel room and probably the front camera flash of the device I was using.

Equipment

I only used an amazon fire hd 8 tablet

Inspiration

I often take "selfies" like this one as sort of a snap shot journal entry. I love to write, but rarely feel like, especially when i'm feeling down. So, instead i'll take a quick picture of myself without forcing any sort of facial expression. When I go back and look at these pictures later on, I can remember exactly what my mental and emotional state were at that time.

Editing

no

In my camera bag

I do have a nice samsung camera but I didn't have it with me at the time. I will take pictures with anything I get ahold of.

Feedback

Don't ever force a "perfect shot" don't get all worked up and flustered. Point, breath and squeeze, don't pull.. yep, just like shooting a gun.
