Behind The Lens

Location

This shot was shot at Yeppoon Lagoon in Queensland. The location was just beautiful and couldn’t help myself, I had to get a snap of it!

Time

It was around lunchtime on another beautiful Queensland day.

Lighting

I’m a strong believer in natural lighting and trying to utilise it where possible without having to pull out equipment. This day was probably the best mid day lighting I have ever encountered, I was able to shoot with no major glare and it was well balanced.

Equipment

Going to be honest, it was a day when I wasn’t expecting to find anywhere to shoot so I only had my phone on me! It was shot on an iPhone 7, came up great for an older model phone!

Inspiration

The simple tranquility of this area inspired me, still one of my favourite spots I have been to this day!

Editing

All I had to do for this photo was apply a couple of basic filters, I didn’t want to go overboard with this one to keep it pure so I would always remember the feeling I had while there.

In my camera bag

As I’m a self taught amateur photographer I only really have an old canon camera and my phone. Slowly working on improving that.

Feedback

Stay focused on the main focal points in the frame and work from there. I loved the layers between the lagoon and open ocean so I tried to use it to my advantage.
